Arsenal Transfer News: Santi Cazorla Reportedly Set for Medical at Arsenal
Arsenal transfer target Santi Cazorla is moving closer and closer to finalizing a deal with the English Premier League club. Reports are emerging that the midfielder is due for a medical at the Emirates some time this week.
According to Sky Sports News, the 27-year-old will fly in to London some time this week—desperate to wrap up a deal with the Gunners that would see him leave Malaga over the summer transfer window.
"Spanish international Santi Cazorla is due to fly into London this week for a medical with Arsenal. The Malaga
midfielder wants to quit the troubled club - whose Qatarian owners are looking to sell [and] despite a takeover looking likely, Cazorla is pressing for his sale to go through and he looks set to get his wish.
A deal worth around €22million (£17.3million) looks set to be agreed between the two clubs. The player's representatives have already held talks with Arsenal
and they are happy with the proposed deal on offer at the Emirates.
Cazorla should be in England within the next 48 hours to conclude a deal, which would be a major coup for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

The news comes as a huge boost for Arsenal fans, who can finally think about something other than whether their captain and star striker Robin van Persie will leave the club before the start of the English Premier League season.
Cazorla's maturity and skills in the midfield will complement the Gunners' game greatly for the upcoming season, and will no doubt boost the performances of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski on attack as well.
The Spanish international could replace former Gunners captain and midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who left the club to join Barcelona over the summer transfer window two years ago.
And who knows—with Giroud, Podolski, Cazorla and the increasingly likely outcome of Robin van Persie for next season as well, Arsenal has managed to build a very strong squad for next season, and must not be discounted as a threat this year.
They are definitely still in the hunt for the English Premier League title, and the acquisition of Cazorla only strengthens that claim.
