Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Update on Transfer Target Lucas Moura
Manchester United transfer target Lucas Moura is having a sensational campaign for Brazil at the 2012 London Olympics, but Sao Paulo are holding firm that no deal or negotiations can take place with the 19-year-old until the Olympics are complete.
Sao Paulo's vice president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes has stated that Manchester United's interest in Lucas has helped the club in its talks with the player about a new contract, and that the Brazilian club intends on signing the midfielder after the Olympics.
Lopes told Globo Esporte (via Sky Sports):

""When there was a round of negotiations with Manchester United, the situation changed a bit and Sao Paulo started to admit the possibility of changing his contract.
But that will only happen after the Olympics as the presence of the player is needed. We won't change the way we do things."

Any deal between the Red Devils and Lucas seemed to stall when they were unwilling to meet the $30 million price tag that his current club, Sao Paulo, had placed on him.
That, coupled with the club's interest and confidence that they will agree to a new deal with Lucas (via Sky Sports) and that the player wants to remain at the club this season (via Sky Sports), has seemingly put Manchester United well out of the picture on this transfer target.
Despite being one of the top transfer targets of the summer transfer window for Sir Alex Ferguson, Lucas appears to be leaning towards staying at his current club over making a move to the English Premier League next season.
At least that's what his club says, anyway.
I guess we'll know after the Olympics are complete.
Is Lucas Moura going to stay at Sao Paulo or move to Manchester United?
