WWE News: Backstage Update on Former Attitude Era Legend Returning
According to a report on F4WOnline, WWE officials were very impressed with the performance of Billy Gunn on last week's 1,000th Monday Night Raw, and are considering bringing him back for at least one more match (h/t Wrestlinginc.com).
Since leaving the WWE in 2004 after 11 years, Gunn, whose real name is Monty Sopp, joined his former tag team partner Road Dogg in competing for rival company TNA Wrestling.
However, Road Dogg has recently signed on with the WWE in an official capacity, whilst Gunn has been wrestling on independent circuits.

But with the reunion of former "Attitude Era" stable D-Generation X, Gunn's behavior backstage was reported to have been exemplary.
"Some people backstage were also joking about how friendly Gunn was with everyone considering that he challenged Triple H and Shawn Michaels to a 'shoot' fight years ago," the story reveals.
Gunn's reception contrasts with that of X-Pac, who many felt was in less than suitable condition for the appearance.
"...many backstage feel Sean "X-Pac" Waltman didn't appear in great shape on the milestone episode so it is unlikely that he'll be brought back for a match."
Also noted is the potential controversy X-Pac's appearance may have caused, due to having previously filmed a sex tape with another former WWE colleague, Chyna.
Whilst it is yet unclear as to if, or in what capacity, the returning legend's angle is to be kept, the news is positive for fans of Gunn, who may remember him most fondly for his gimmick Mr. Ass, or for his tag team partnerships with Road Dogg and later Chuck Palumbo.
Indeed, if he is to return, many fans will be hoping it is to briefly reform one of the above.
