Arsene Wenger: Mathieu Flamini and Cesc Fabregas "Best Partnership"
"I will keep faith [with them] because we have worked hard for what we have now," said Wenger speaking before the weekend. "I have said many times, the real target of a manager is to find the balance with what comes in and what goes out and build a team with these restrictions. It is to do well with the funds available."We have money because we made money and we made money because we made the right decisions. I believe a football team is not about buying and selling. It is about building, patience, working together and going through a growing process. "Also it is enjoyable now to see the team coming slowly up and see how well they can do."
It is indeed enjoyable, but as I'm sure most of you will agree , the squad needs a little shoring up. I'm not saying we need to splash the cash like Rafa Benitez did in the closed season , last year but we do need a few positions strengthened.
Arsene also had complimentary things about the starting midfield partnership of Fab and Flam calling them his " best partnership".

"Going forward they [Fabregas and Flamini] are technically good and very mobile. Before we had players with impact and now the players' strength is in mobility.
"Maybe they are less physically strong in the challenge than Vieira and Petit but they have a good understanding and they cover each other well."
I'm in no position to add my tuppence as to wheteher Flamini an Fabregas are the better than Paddy and Petit, I think that needs more deliberation. Maybe you will get my view on that tomorrow. I will say this much today that trophies play a big part in measuring a players greatness.
Boro it is this weekend in the Premiership, but one thing we can look forward to is the draw for the Champions League Quarter finals, thats tomorrow. You can find the complete draw here , as soon as I find out, so watch out for that! Will we get the Manky bunch? Someone fancy Chelski, Barca anyone? We'll have to wait and see.
And I'm outy, more Arse-filled goodness on the morrow!
