Play NBA GM: What's the Best Starting Lineup You Can Get For $50 Million?
Hoops Hype lists all NBA salaries (click on the team names at the top of the page for complete information) at http://hoopshype.com/salaries.htm.
So you be GM: What's the best starting lineup you can come up with for $50 million?
Yes, your team as a whole will be over the cap (is it $58 million?), but so is every team that contends. You can have anyone in the league; you just can't go over $50 million (and this is based on players' salaries for 2008-2009).
Here's my starting unit:
| Dwight Howard | ORL | C | $13,758,000 |
| Carlos Boozer | UTA | PF | $11,593,817 |
| LeBron James | CLE | SF | $14,410,581 |
| Brandon Roy | POR | SG | $3,084,240 |
| Chris Paul | NOH | PG | $4,574,189 |
| $47,420,827 |
I know Boozer's hurt, but he's supposed to be coming back, and he's really good. Obviously, Paul, Roy, James, and Howard are going to have hugely higher salaries in a couple of years, but for now you can get them for song. And I've got $2.6 million to spare! Anyone think they can top that?
