Ryan Lochte Propels Team USA, and Michael Phelps, but Will He Thrive on Day 6?

B/R StudiosFeatured ColumnistJuly 31, 2012

Day 3 at the 2012 London Olympics is one that Ryan Lochte would soon like to forget, and entering Day 4, he looked for a big result in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay and some momentum heading into the second half of the swimming schedule.

Lochte's schedule gets much worse starting on Day 5, needing to qualify in both the 200-meter backstroke (his signature event) and the 200-meter individual medley for which he is the current world record holder at 1:54.00.

So, could Lochte rebound with a huge performance in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay and what's in store for this champion on Days 5 and 6?

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Mel Stewart breaks it all down.
