DeMarcus Cousins/UW Update: Feb. 22
Cousins has been named to the 2009 Jordan Brand All-American game which features the 20 best High School seniors in the country. Abdul Gaddy from Bellarmine Prep will also be participating in this game.
More information on players and the games can be found here. He has also been named to the famous McDonald's All-American game, a game in which Abdul Gaddy will be participating in as well.
More information can be found here.
Cousins' current High School team, Le Flore, is currently ranked 13th in the country with a 26-2 record. In the same USA Today poll, they have Franklin at No. 19. Lorenzo Romar is currently recruiting Cousins aggressively. Romar has already flew down to Alabama to see Cousins play.
If Wolfinger transfers and one player is willing to give up their scholarship, Cousins could be very much in the picture for next year. Some insiders even believe that UW may be the front-runner citing his relationship with Isaiah Thomas and the excitement that UW's fast-pace game could bring to him.
Hopefully he'll make his decision soon, at least before the All-American games. He has yet to visit the UW campus or even see a game of UW in person. Rumor has it that he'll be able to see a home game before the post season starts.
