Manchester City: 46-Year-Old David Platt Scores with Stunning Overhead Kick
As the summer wears on, Manchester City remain uncharacteristically quiet in the transfer market.
No worries, though. A 46-year-old coach is providing all the excitement City fans need.
The 46-year-old is David Platt, who assists manager Roberto Mancini with Manchester City's first team. Platt, who earned 62 caps with England's senior international team, last played professionally in 2001.

In a 16-year-playing career, Platt featured for Crewe Alexandra, Aston Villa, Bari, Juventus, Sampdoria, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. Along the way, he probably learned a thing or two here and there, but in fairness that was all a long time ago.
Not that you would know it from this video. Watch it twice, and resist the urge to have your eyes checked.
You saw that right: That's David Platt scoring with a sick overhead kick during Manchester City training.
If you're impressed, you're not alone. As you can see in the video, Sergio Aguero thought pretty highly of Platt's work, and Aguero only scored the decisive goal in the 2011-12 English Premier League season.
Child's play, apparently.
Anyway, Platt's sweet strike came during an open training session at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. City and Platt were preparing for a preseason friendly against a Malaysia XI, a match Manchester City won 3-1.
In other news, we can neither confirm nor deny that Manchester City and Liverpool are now discussing a swap deal involving Platt and Andy Carroll.
But, really, could you see Carroll doing this? Oh, never mind.
