Olympic Reporter Kiss: Arab Journalist Set to Become New Viral Sensation
With so much attention on London right now for the 2012 Olympic Games, it stands to reason that the Internet would be abuzz with a new athlete to turn into a viral sensation. That may come in time, but for right now the most noteworthy video to come from these games is because of a kiss.
Specifically, a kiss from a spectator given to a journalist who was giving a live report on the Olympics.
According to Yahoo Sports, the Arab reporter works for Sky News and was giving an update on what was happening in London on Monday. He was right in the middle of his speech when a young English woman runs up to him, puts her arm around his shoulder, says "thank you" and plants a kiss on his cheek.
The journalist had a good sense of humor about it, at least on camera, and was able to finish his report.
Not that it comes as a surprise, but the reaction of the crowd surrounding the reporter could easily lead one to think that the whole thing was a dare brought on by one of the woman's friends. It is sad that people have to make a spectacle of themselves, but this is where we are.
With everything ending up on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc. in a matter of minutes, at least the reporter and female will have a lasting memory from the London Olympics that we can all share forever.
You just know that this is going to become one of those signature viral moments from London that people look back on and wonder what the heck she was thinking.
Hopefully the reporter doesn't become known for just this kiss, as he kept his cool like a true professional. Good for him.
