Michael CummingsJul 31, 2012

The big names are back. In fact, it's almost as if the names you know so well never left the rumor mill at all.

In Tuesday's edition of the B/R Transfer Tracker, we have updates on the transfer sagas of Andy Carroll, Robin van Persie and Clint Dempsey.

But wait, there's more.

In addition to all that, we have the glorious transfer-rumor return of…

…wait for it…

…Wesley Sneijder.

All the details await inside.

Carroll Turns Down West Ham

1 of 5

Liverpool forward Andy Carroll will turn down a loan move to West Ham after the two clubs agreed to a fee (The Guardian).

The Reds reportedly accepted a £2 million loan fee for Carroll. West Ham then would have paid £17 million more at the end of the season to make the deal permanent, on the condition that they avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Citing a West Ham source, ESPNSoccernet reports that Carroll has already rejected West Ham.

Carroll, 23, joined Liverpool from Newcastle in 2011 for £35 million. If he leaves, Carroll is thought to prefer a return to Newcastle in order to play European football this season.

Juventus Bid Big for RvP?

2 of 5

Juventus are planning a £70 million package to land Dutch striker Robin van Persie from Arsenal (Daily Mirror).

Wait a moment. Breathe, Gooners. That's not all transfer fee.

In addition to some awful Photoshopping work, the Mirror reveals that Juventus would pay Arsenal a £20 million fee and offer van Persie a five-year contract worth £190,000 after taxes.

With the potential deal for Luka Modric stalling, Real Madrid have turned their attention to Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder (talkSPORT).

Sneijder, 28, joined Inter Milan from Real Madrid in 2009. With Inter, he played under manager Jose Mourinho (who is now the manager of Real Madrid) and won the league, domestic cup and Champions League in 2009-10.

Milan in Late for Balzaretti?

4 of 5

AC Milan will make a late push to sign full-back Federico Balzaretti from Palermo (Goal.com).

Napoli reportedly have agreed to a deal in principle with Palermo, but Goal.com reports that Roma are the favorites to sign Balzaretti.

Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Lazio are also thought to be interested.

Balzaretti, 30, has 12 senior caps for Italy.

Dempsey Stays Behind

5 of 5

American midfielder and Liverpool transfer target Clint Dempsey will not participate in Fulham's preseason trip to Switzerland (ESPNSoccernet).

Dempsey will stay in London and train with Fulham's youth players. The club is claiming the decision has nothing to do with a potential transfer.

"

"Clint remained behind to work on his fitness along with Hugo Rodallega," a club spokesperson told ESPN. "Contrary to popular belief the player has not refused to go, he has not had a bust up with the manager, he and Martin Jol get on fine. Equally we have not had an offer for Clint and nor would the club welcome one."

"

According to Goal.com, Fulham would want Liverpool's Charlie Adam or Stewart Downing as part of a swap deal for Dempsey.
