WWE: Why Charlie Sheen and Zack Ryder Would Be a Perfect Fit at SummerSlam
The best use of Charlie Sheen would be to involve him with Daniel Bryan and Zack Ryder in the match at SummerSlam.
You won't be able to sell me on a better, more realistic scenario than having Ryder with Charlie Sheen in his corner. Sheen has to be in the corner of a WWE superstar. I would be shocked if he wrestled a match. A lot of liability is on Sheen's physical health and he just isn't in his athletic prime anymore.
Lawrence Taylor or Floyd Mayweather adapted well to getting in the ring, especially Taylor at WrestleMania 11. Both were natural athletes. Unless Charlie Sheen is going to do a segment with the APA or the divas, I don't think we will be saying much about Sheen's natural abilities with his body.

Sheen's natural ability to talk and promote is what's valuable.
WWE working with Sheen is a good move, you just have to work with Sheen in the right capacity. The right capacity is Sheen pimping out the WWE. Sheen says WWE is cool, that goes a long way. Whether you like him or not, everything he touches turns to gold. Television shows, comedy specials, catchphrases and even the Charlie Sheen Halloween costume was everywhere last October.
Sheen is an influential, polarizing figure in today's pop culture. WWE's second largest pay-per-view, SummerSlam, is once again taking place in Hollywood. Having Hollywood's bad boy saying this is cool and taking part in it will go a long way.
The next key factor is who Sheen is working with. Going opposite Daniel Bryan is another solid choice. I heard rumors the original plan was to have Sheen in the corner of Bryan, but it seems that's changed, and for the better. Bryan has captivated the WWE audience similar to Sheen with pop culture.
They both have catchphrases that became insanely popular. Last summer you could say “Winning” and everybody knew what and who you were referring to. Now, you can say “Yes” and at least in the wrestling circles, there is no confusion of where it came from.
Daniel Bryan and Charlie Sheen are both characters that are either loved or hated. Look around a WWE arena, there truly is no middle ground with reaction to Bryan. Same can be said with Sheen, comically loved or thoroughly despised.
Then there's the irony in their characters with lifestyles and personality.
Daniel Bryan doesn't eat meat, doesn't drink and doesn't smoke. Health and discipline is what his diet consists of. Sheen on the other hand will eat, drink and smoke anything. It's a great devil versus angel conflict.
Daniel Bryan has been centered in a story with AJ where he was abusive, unappreciative and manipulative. Everything he did was for his own personal gain. He did a complete switch and began to “love” AJ once she held the power in his championship match. Sheen on the other hand may not be boyfriend of the year material, but seems to have a certain honest and openness with his fast lane personal life. It's almost as if Sheen in a promo could have the moral upper hand if and when AJ got tossed in the mix. Just think about that for a minute.
The final factor―who does Sheen have step in the ring for him? Zack Ryder.
Based on appeal, I would say there is a good chance the older WWE audience members who are entertained by Zack Ryder are the same people who get some entertainment out of Charlie Sheen. The younger WWE fans who aren't familiar with Sheen, are still wearing "Broski" headbands or dislike Daniel Bryan, so it all works. Everybody cares, has a reaction and most importantly―pays to see it.
Sheen and Ryder's two styles of cool, comedy and catchphrases is a powerhouse team. This unique fit is not only valuable on WWE programming but also in the media.
All a part of Sheen pimping out WWE and telling everybody to watch is doing media appearances to hype SummerSlam. Obviously, whoever is on Sheen's side in the marquee match is going to or should be doing some media with him.
This makes Ryder a great choice. This is also why someone like Kane, while having a storyline background with Bryan, wouldn't work. The person behind the mask playing Kane is one of the most intelligent, well spoken people in WWE, but it wouldn't fit the Kane character.
Ryder would fit the bill effortlessly by promoting WWE and charming the media while being the Zack Ryder that you see every week on television.
Imagine the vignettes of Sheen talking and helping Ryder get ready for the biggest match on the biggest stage of Ryder's career.
