Preview

These two teams faced off for the first time a little more than two weeks ago, and Villanova won big: 102-85.

The Wildcats have played very well in Big East play recently—in their last 10 Big East games, they are 8-2, with losses to UConn and West Virginia.

Syracuse, on the other hand, has not been playing well recently—they have only had two games since their loss to Villanova, and they lost by 14 to UConn and defeated a struggling Georgetown team 98-94 in overtime. They started the season out great, but after a few games of Big East play, they began to struggle. They are barely in the top 25 now (they were in the top 10 at one point), and they have struggled against their tougher opponents.

The Orange continue to be lead by their backcourt—Jonny Flynn, Eric Devendorf, and Andy Rautins. Between the three of them, they average 43 points per game. Their frontcourt isn't shabby either—Paul Harris and Arinze Onuaku average another 28 points for them.

Villanova's strength also lies within their backcourt—Scottie Reynolds, Cory Fisher, and Cory Stokes.

This is going to be another great matchup between two good Big East teams.
