Liverpool Transfer Rumors: Gaston Ramirez Is Better Target Than Clint Dempsey
Bologna midfielder Gaston Ramirez would be a better transfer target for Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers than Fulham's Clint Dempsey because the 21-year-old Uruguayan is more talented and eight years younger than the American.
Per the Sunday Express (via the Mirror)
"Liverpool are close to signing Bologna’s Uruguayan winger Gaston Ramirez for £16m.

If the Reds could bring a young star of Ramirez's quality to Anfield, it would be a huge transfer victory over clubs such as Manchester City and Manchester United, both of whom need a young playmaking midfielder.
Ramirez is a great passer, and also has the pace and goalscoring ability that would really upgrade the attacking talent in the Liverpool midfield.
While no player could ever replace Steven Gerrard at Liverpool, Ramirez could be the player that can take over for the Anfield captain when he retires and lead the club into the future.
Like Gerrard, Ramirez can score from free kicks and help Liverpool win the possession battle. The young Uruguayan is good enough to start at Liverpool in the upcoming Premier League season, yet he still has a lot of improvement in his game.
Bringing a young star like Ramirez to Liverpool would be the ideal scenario for the club and boost the morale among the supporters. He has superstar potential and is a versatile talent that can excel as a midfielder or a winger.
Dempsey doesn't have the ability on set pieces that Ramirez does, and he also doesn't have the same pace or passing ability. Ramirez is a better player and is certainly worth a higher price than the American star.
Dempsey has a lot of Premier League experience, which is one advantage he has over the Uruguayan, but there's no reason to believe that Ramirez won't succeed in England. Ramirez will immediately have good chemistry with Uruguayan teammate and Liverpool star Luis Suarez as well.
Ramirez is a fantastic talent, and a better transfer target for Liverpool than Dempsey.
