Olympic Basketball Live Stream: How to Watch Top Games on Day 4 of Competition

Alex HallJul 30, 2012

Basketball at the 2012 Summer Games is one of the more high-profile sports taking place in London, with more than a few key games coming up on Day 4. Let's take a look at the matchups that you should be tuning in for.

Australia vs. Spain

Where: Olympic Park Basketball Arena, London

The Australians lost a hard-fought battle against Brazil in their first game of the tournament and will need to rebound against a top medal contender in Spain. Despite the loss, Australia had four players with double-digit points in the box score. They'll need more of the same against Spain.

Spain is the heavy favorite in this bout for obvious reasons like their NBA talent in Marc and Pau Gasol. The Spanish are one of the top teams that could potentially take down Team USA and need to show why so many think that's the case when they take on Australia.

The Australians will be leaning on David Anderson and Patrick Mills offensively in a victory they desperately need. No team wants to enter their third game having lost the first two. Regardless of how well they play, though, all signs point to Spain emerging as the victor in this one.

Prediction: Spain 94, Australia 80

France vs. Argentina

Where: Olympic Park Basketball Arena, London

When: 3 p.m. ET

Watch: NBC Sports Network or NBC Basketball

France became the first team to lose to Team USA during the London Games and likely won't be the last, but the French will need to regroup against talented Argentina.

This matchup will be a battle between Spurs so to speak, as both France and Argentina's most high-profile players happen to play for San Antonio in the NBA.

Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker will lead their respective teams against one another in what should be Day 4's most evenly matched game. Ginobili spoke a little about the upcoming game against his teammate to lainformacion.com:

"

France is younger and has a totally destabilizing player like Tony Parker, you can make a mess and break up any defense. They have good size and with a balance of experience players in the NBA and FIBA.

"

The two players know each other quite well, playing so many seasons together in San Antonio and will make for a close match. Argentina recently had a fine exhibition showing against the United States before the Olympics began, which should lead to them being the favorites in this contest.

Parker is a great talent and Boris Diaw showed a few flashes of brilliance against Team USA, but Argentina, with Luis Scola and Ginobili, have the better unit and should win this bout.

Prediction: Argentina 95, France 79

Tunisia vs. United States

Where: Olympic Park Basketball Arena, London

When: 5:15 p.m. ET

Watch: NBC Sports Network or NBC Basketball

If you thought the blowout against the French was hard to watch, then wait until you see what happens when Tunisia and Team USA share the same court.

Tunisia has absolutely no NBA talent on their roster while the U.S. has nothing but the top talent from the world's top basketball league. In the team's first London contest, LeBron James and Kevin Love dominated the French defense, which I don't think anyone would argue is more talented than what Tunisia has to offer.

If this bout were between Tunisia and, say, Brazil, then this matchup would not make this list. However, because the United States are involved and dissected whenever they are involved in a contest, this is a blowout that is worth watching.

Not that myself or anybody else in the known world expects it, but if Team USA were to lose, it might just be the worst loss in the team's history, so if you're into that schadenfreude stuff, there's another reason to tune into this contest.

Prediction: United States 105, Tunisia 65
