A Hardy War Has Begun: Smackdown! Rebound

This is a recap of the 2/20/09 edition of Friday Night Smackdown! I'll tell you who won the matches and of course what the matches were.

Edge opened Smackdown with a promo. Jeff Hardy comes out to interrupt. He talks about No Way Out. A few more words are said, and then...Jeff gives Edge the Twist of Fate!

The cameras then go backstage and Vickie Guerrero books a non-title match between Jeff Hardy and Edge.

The first match was Michelle McCool & Maryse vs Eve Torres & Maria. It was a pretty close match from the start. Maryse started to take control but then Eve was tagged in, and she attacked.

But then Maryse fought back and she got the pin on Eve while Maria was groggy outside the ring.

A video is shown of the date between Miz, John Morrison, and the Bella Twins. Carlito & Primo Colon were undercover as waiters. They tried to throw pies at Miz and Morrison, but missed and, accidentally hit the girls.

MVP & R-Truth were supposed to face Shelton Benjamin and Chavo Guerrero. But before MVP entered the ring Shelton and Chavo viciously attacked R-Truth. He was unable to perform.

So it turned into a handicap match: MVP vs Shelton and Chavo. Near the end of the match, Chavo attacked Shelton and MVP got the pin on the "Gold Standard" after he hit the Drive By.

Umaga defeated Scotty Goldman. That's all I have to say.

Vickie Guerrero came out for a promo. She states that the winner of the match between Shawn Michaels and JBL will have to face Vladimir Kozlov to see who would get to face the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25.

In the main event, Jeff Hardy faced Edge. It was a close match. Jeff led a little, then Edge took over. Edge took control half-way through. 

Jeff hit the Whisper in the Wind, went for the pin, but Edge kicked out at the two-count. A few more attacks from Jeff. He goes for the Twist of Fate, but Edge counters into the Edge-O-Matic.

Edge sets up for the spear. Jeff counters into a pin, Jeff hits the Swanton Bomb! But then here comes Matt Hardy. He kicks Jeff in the stomach, and hits the Twist of Fate on his little brother. Then Matt says he wants a match with Jeff Hardy the following week.
