Manchester United Transfer News: Sao Paulo Insist Lucas Moura Deal Is over
Manchester United's hopes of keeping alive a deal with Brazilian sensation Lucas Moura appear to have had their final hurrah, with the club declaring that negotiations with the Red Devils for Moura are indeed finished.
The Red Devils had been actively pursing the 19-year-old midfielder throughout the summer transfer window and were believed to be close to signing Moura after submitting a reported £27.2 million bid for the teenager.
However, that bid was rejected by the club, and according to Sao Paulo director Adalberto Baptista, negotiations with United for Moura have come to a close, telling ESPN Brazil (h/t Goal):

"There are no negotiations going on. Everybody knows we got an offer for him, and rejected it.
It's also known that Lucas [Moura] doesn't want to leave. The only person keeping expectations alive is his agent.
The decision is final. There will always be great teams going after great players. This mismatch between the European and Brazilian transfer window makes it hard for national clubs, and we have to deal with that..
"
It appears also that not even the player's agent is interested in keeping a deal with Manchester United alive, after he reportedly stated via Eurosport that there was no possibility of the teenager leaving Sao Paulo over the summer.
Manchester United may turn their attention back towards Everton defender Leighton Baines (via Goal), or even back onto one of their earlier rumored midfielders in Christian Eriksen (via The Daily Mail) or Joao Moutinho (via The Metro).
Lucas Moura is not making a move to Old Trafford this summer, and it's time for the Red Devils to recognize this and move on in the transfer season.
