Hansen Hype: Must-Read AFC West Links, July 24 Edition

Training camp has arrived in the AFC West, and that means more news and more links for your reading pleasure. The Chargers' rookies were the first to report to training camp, but by Sunday, the entire division will be at their training camp sites working towards the ultimate goal of winning a championship.

ProFootballFocus has a nice breakdown on crossing-route efficiency. Dwayne Bowe was perfect, and Joel Dreessen had two touchdowns on such routes in 2011. 

Denver

The Broncos report to training camp tomorrow, July 25th.

Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post put together an excellent guide to attending the Broncos' training camp in Dove Valley.

Champ Bailey got the ride of his life with in an F-16 fighter jet. Broncos.com has a video of Champ's flight with the USAF Thunderbirds.

Jack Del Rio's stint as the defensive coordinator could be a short one, writes Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes several years for Del Rio to get another chance to be a head coach—if if happens at all—so the Broncos shouldn't be worried. He had a nice long tenure in Jacksonville, and NFL teams will have a large sample size to examine before considering him.

The Broncos are focused on finishing the contracts for Brock Osweiler and Ronnie Hillman, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. Expect those to be done in time for the players to take the field tomorrow at the latest. 

Kansas City

The Chiefs report to training camp Thursday, July 26th.

Oakland

Darrius Heyward-Bey pleaded no-contest to misdemeanor drunken driving as part of a plea agreement with the prosecutor, according to Vivian Ho of the San Francisco Chronicle. Heyward-Bey will pay a fine and get counseling, but he's not likely to face suspension by the league for his first offense. 

Louis Murphy was traded for a seventh-round draft pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The compensation wasn't known immediately. The Raiders gain flexibility and cap space by moving Murphy. 

San Diego

Larry English was among the veterans practicing with the rookies when the Chargers reported to training camp. Chargers.com has post-practice press conference video and quotebook.
