Rashad McCants to the Kings - Shelden Williams to the T’Wolves: A hard worker in Williams to a goof off in McCants. Both are marginal talents at their best.

Tim Thomas, Jerome James, and Anthony Robertson to the Bulls - Larry Hughes to the Knicks: Hughes’ $13.6 million expiring contract was the trading chip here. Thomas should contribute for the Bulls for the next year or so, but he is getting up there in age.

Chris Wilcox to the Knicks - Malik Rose to the Thunder: Not sure about this one. I’d say the Knicks win because of Wilcox’s finishing abilities, but its not set in stone.

Deals That Almost Went Down

Shaq to the Cavs for Sasha Pavlovic and Ben Wallace. That deal would have locked up the championship for the Cavs.

Game Recaps

Detroit 79 - San Antonio 83: Allen Iverson did everything he could to get the win for the Pistons in this contest. Well everything except hit the potential game-winning three. Other than that, AI was a stud. He finished with a game high 31 points along with seven assists.

Rasheed Wallace also had a shot to win the game win the Pistons were only down one, but he missed an 18-foot jumper. The Spurs, while playing their first game of a three week stretch without Manu Ginobli, were lead by point guard Tony Parker who finished with 19 points and 11 assists. Tim Duncan also had a double-double, with 18 points and 18 boards.

Utah 90 - Boston 85: It came down to two final plays for the Jazz, a turn around-J by Matt Harpring  and a shot from the free throw line from Deron Williams to put away the defending World Champs. Williams had 18

points, 10 assists and 3 rebounds and Mehmet Okur scored 19 and grabbed 6 rebounds to lead the Jazz. The Celtics will get over the loss, but team-leader Kevin Garnett left the game in the 2nd quarter and did not return.

The latest report is a strained knee, but it could be more serious. He injured the knee after jumping up for a rebound and landing awkwardly on his leg. Paul Pierce had 20 points in the contest but failed to come through in the clutch twice.

Kendrick Perkins had 12 points and 11 boards.
