Alabama Football: Walker Jones Commits to the Crimson Tide
Yesterday, the Crimson Tide added another gem to their 2013 recruiting class when legacy athlete, Walker Jones committed to Alabama.
Jones followed in the steps of his brothers Barrett and Harrison who are current players for Nick Saban.
He is a versatile athlete who could line up at linebacker or H-back for the Tide. At 6'3" and 240 pounds, the Tennessee native is rated as a three-star recruit by all the major recruiting services.
As a junior, this prospect was dominant on the field, recording 95 tackles, forcing five fumbles and picking off two passes. That illustrates the talent of this kid, he is all over the field and his stat line is very impressive.
Recruiting pundit Tim Watts admits the Tide were the favorites all along and the linebacker made it official Monday when he committed to Alabama over offers from in-state Tennessee, Arkansas and Ole Miss among many others.
This makes commit No.18 for the coaching staff, and they improve on their red hot streak as they have received commitments from the above mentioned Jones and touted tight end prospect Josh McNeil over the last few days.
Alabama flexes its muscles yet again on the recruiting trail, and illustrates that under head coach Nick Saban, this program can and will recruit at an elite level.
Alabama fans have to be excited about the future of this prospect and the 2013 class as a whole, as it is shaping up to be a surefire top-10 class when all is said and done.
