Manchester United Transfer News: United Reportedly Out of Deal for Lucas Moura

It might be the news that no Manchester United fan wanted to read after reportedly being so close to signing Brazilian sensation Lucas Moura, but according to latest reports, the club is out of any possible deal involving the teenager.

The player's agent—Wagner Ribeiro—is on the record as saying that United have little to no chance of signing the starlet away from the South American club unless they match Sao Paulo's current valuation of the player—a move they are unable to make.

Ribeiro told www.uol.com.br (via Eurosport UK):

"They [Manchester United] have reached their limit—they will not offer anything more.

"He [Lucas Moura] will not leave, he is happy in Sao Paulo.

"This matter has to be terminated, there is no possibility of him leaving now. Manchester United made an offer—which was refused—and will not do another because they came up to their limit..."

The news comes after Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that the Red Devils had not agreed on any deal with the talent teenager—stating that he was not their player and would not be considered a Manchester United signing until any deal was officially announced between the two clubs.

Heralded as one of the most exciting and talented prospects to come out of Brazil in recent seasons, Moura's signature was considered a luxury that United were willing to chase, but were not willing to pay the reported transfer fee for Moura—believed to be upwards of £30 million.

Moura has appeared several times for the Brazilian national team and with blistering speed and incredible talent on the ball, would have been a huge addition to the Red Devils squad for next season.

Would have been, anyway.

The rumors about a possible move may continue as the Premier League giants try to sign the 19-year-old but the player's agent on record stating that no deal will take place seeing that United have reached their limit is almost good enough to seal it for me.

We'll have to wait and see how this one pans out, but I'm willing to make a call—Lucas Moura is not making a move to Manchester United over the summer transfer window.

Not yet, anyway.
