MMA Star Rondo Rousey Sounds off on Summer Olympics and Michael Phelps
Ronda Rousey isn't one to pull any punches when answering a question, even if it's about an Olympic superhero like Michael Phelps.
Rousey already took some solid jabs at reality TV queen Kim Kardashian, questioning the method and legitimacy of her fame.
Now, she chimes in on Michael Phelps, arguably the greatest swimmer to take a dip in the pool.
This is a brief interview, in which Rousey gives Olympic athletes a bit of advice before they take the journey to London, one that no doubt features a great deal of nerves and a myriad of questions.
Her first words of advice? Condoms. That may be one word, but it's followed by many that describe an Olympic village filled with hot athletes who will no doubt get rather cozy with one another.
So, she wants to remind them to stay safe.
Also, the athletes should feel free to hang with the men's basketball team, especially Kobe Bryant, who she says is a nice guy.
The biggest gripe she has is with Phelps, whom she contends was distant from the rest of Team USA. At the 3:25 mark, the honest, oft-opinionated Rousey talks about the lone athlete she noticed who didn't chat it up with others in the cafeteria.
If she is right, it sounds like Phelps needed a lot of room from the other athletes while eating. She makes a point to say that not even the NBA stars would keep to themselves, wanting nothing but to feel like the rest of Team USA, one cohesive collection out for a common goal.
But not Phelps.
