Manchester United News: Nemanja Vidic in Doubt for Start of EPL
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that despite recovering well from his season-ending injury last year, United captain Nemanja Vidic is still in doubt for the start of the 2012 English Premier League season.
The defender, who ruptured his cruciate ligament in December against FC Basel (via The Guardian), is believed to still be several weeks off making a full recovery
Sir Alex Ferguson told reporters that despite returning to full training on Monday, his chances of making the starting squad for the opening match of the English Premier League season against Everton are slim (via Goal.com):

"It's not 100 percent that [Jonny] Evans and [Nemanja] Vidic will start the season. Jonny will start running today; Vida [Vidic] and Phil Jones started full training today."
There is little doubt that United sorely missed their captain and central defender last season, particularly late in the campaign when their defense looked exposed at times.
The Red Devils dropped eight points in the space of four matches to hand the English Premier League title back to Manchester City. One can only imagine what could have been for United had their star defender still been available.
His return to full training is promising news nonetheless—nobody wants to see a player hampered by injury, especially not a player of Vidic's class and ability.
United fans will be eagerly awaiting the return of their captain, desperately hoping that he will indeed be right to go by the time the English Premier League commences.
United can ill afford any longer without him.
Will Nemanja Vidic be right to go by the start of the EPL season?
