Chelsea Transfer News: Can Eden Hazard Become Chelsea's Lionel Messi?

Chelsea's top transfer this summer Eden Hazard has spoken out about his desire to perform for the club this season—hoping to become Chelsea's Lionel Messi—as they seek to repeat their English domestic league and UEFA Champions League success.

After making a move from Lille to Stamford Bridge worth around £32 million, the expectations on Hazard are no doubt high, but the 21-year-old is confident that he can perform for the Blues and become a star player for the club over the next few seasons.

Thus whilst there is little doubt about the talent and skills that Hazard already has and the huge addition he will be to the Blues this season, whether he can become the club's version of Lionel Messi is a whole different question.

Playing in behind Fernando Torres with the likes of Juan Mata and potentially Oscar on either side of him, there's no reason why Hazard cannot thrive in the English Premier League and turn the Blues into one of the most formidable sides on the planet.

But to become Chelsea's Lionel Messi? Now that would be some achievement.
