Will WWE Raw 1,000 Be One Big Promo?
Raw 1,000 is so close you can taste it, but with its approach, one thing is on my mind: Will Raw 1,000 have any wrestling or will it be one big promo?
Let's take a look at the scheduled segments thus far.
To start with, yes, there will be a WWE title match between CM Punk and John Cena. That will likely be a 15-minute match or so.

Also announced is an Intercontinental title bout between Christian and an opponent to be named. That match will likely be five to eight minutes long.
Other than that, no other matches have been announced. In fact, everything else thus far is likely a promo.
The show will kick off with the DX reunion, a segment likely to run about 15 minutes. I also expect that Brock Lesnar will be involved in that promo to give his answer to Triple H about facing him at Summerslam. So with that, it may be 20 minutes or longer.
Also, The Rock will be returning in an unspecified role. I expect it to be a promo or announcement about his future with the company. Remember, he did say he planned on making a run at the title some time down the line. Maybe a WrestleMania announcement? We will see.
Next up, we have the Daniel Bryan-AJ wedding that will likely run 15 to 20 minutes. This is the only thing I am dreading about Raw 1,000, as I see nothing good coming out of this segment. I am not a fan of the storyline, and frankly, it's just getting annoying and stale.
Right there, you have about an hour and 10 minutes of television. This episode of Raw will be three hours, but you take out time for social media promotion, commercials and recaps, and we are probably closer to about two hours.
Furthermore, the return of the Undertaker is expected. I wonder if he will be in a match or a promo.
Already, a majority of the show is going to be promos and segments. This doesn't leave much time for wrestling unless they plan on having Ryback or Brodus Clay wrestle a couple squash matches.
Promos are good, but I watch wrestling for athleticism, the art of the sport and to plain watch guys wrestle. If I want to hear a bunch of guys cut promos and talk to the masses, I will watch President Obama on C-SPAN.
Hopefully, there will be a battle royale for the returning wrestlers like Viscera, Steve Blackman and others. Those are always fun matches that intrigue the older audience members.
I also would like to see Santino Marella actually defend his title on Raw. Maybe he could drop the title finally and move on from his forgettable title run.
Do you think Raw 1,000 is a going to be Promo 1,000? Let me know in the comments below.
