Liverpool FC Transfer Window Speculation: 3 Players in and 3 Players Out
Brendan Rodgers has taken full control of the club and its transfers already, having lost Dirk Kuyt and Maxi Rodriguez but signing young Italian international Fabio Borini from AS Roma.
There is much speculation surrounding some of the team's players with more rumors being tacked on each day as to who the Anfield boss will bring in this summer.
Forward and midfield are the team's most-talked-about positions, but Rodgers may find that it is also his defense that may need help.
Out: Craig Bellamy
1 of 7Having helped lead the squad to the Carling Cup trophy, as well as making a name for himself in red again, Craig Bellamy was a bright spot in the Liverpool lineup many times last year.
However, it is believed that the Welshman is off to return to Cardiff permanently, as he feels he may not make the Brendan Rodgers cut.
It is likely that Bellamy would very much welcome the return home and could be another one of Liverpool's wingers to say goodbye.
Out: Martin Skrtel
2 of 7This one hurts for any Liverpool fan to have to think about after his performances last year, but it's true that Martin Skrtel may be looking to opt out of Anfield this summer, with defending champions Manchester City leading the way for his signature.
Skrtel has previously brushed aside most of the speculation surrounding his name, but contract talks have stalled, and he has yet to verbally commit to anything further.
Out: Andy Carroll
3 of 7After a pretty good performance at the European Championships, Andy Carroll returns to Liverpool under some scrutiny as it's believed the Anfield boss has told Carroll he's not wanted this upcoming year.
After denying him a loan opportunity back to Newcastle, Liverpool has made it clear that offers for their $56 million man will only be taken seriously if they are offloading him permanently.
It's understood that Carroll is disappointed by the news but more than willing to go back to Newcastle should they make a permanent bid for him. Previously West Ham were rumored to shoot for him, but it appears now the ball is in the court of the Tyneside club.
In: Clint Dempsey
4 of 7Clint Dempsey's name has been circulating throughout British newspapers and websites this past week, with some claiming a deal is already in place to bring the 29-year-old American international to Merseyside for a fee of around $14 million.
However, Fulham are looking to play hardball and potentially jack up the price to test the pockets of the FSG-owned club.
Dempsey has denied a contract extension with the club, and rumors are running the ring saying he has expressed his wish to join Liverpool. If a deal is to be done, it almost certainly has to happen in the next 10 days or so before the situation fizzes out.
In: Milos Krasic
5 of 7Milos Krasic has been pleading for a way out of Italian Serie A champion Juventus, and a move to the Premier League is on the cards with both Liverpool and Tottenham as interested parties.
It is unclear whether the Serbian winger would be joining on a permanent basis or on loan, but it is clear that Krasic is ready to go wherever to play first-team football.
Liverpool were linked with him in early June, but up until a few days ago, the speculation had gone away. The rumors are back now, though, and the fee could be anywhere between $10-13 million if the deal is permanent.
Just another player to watch should Liverpool open up the doors.
In: Joe Allen
6 of 7This "Swansealona" midfielder has been a target of Rodgers since his move from Wales to Liverpool last month.
At first, it was believed a "gentleman's agreement" had been in effect between Rodgers and Swansea that BR wouldn't take any players with him. Swansea has since opened up the doors to bids from the Merseyside club, and it is seen that Joe Allen is clearly a Rodgers target.
The signing of Michu from Rayo Vallecano has opened up much speculation that Liverpool is in for Allen, but a fee of $23 million is turning FSG a bit cold on the deal.
However, it certainly wouldn't stop the club from signing their apparently most wanted man. Look for a deal to happen on this one soon.
The Window
7 of 7Having lost Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt but adding on Fabio Borini, Liverpool already looks different from last year.
Despite the speculation surrounding new players and those leaving, the club is on tour in the United States right now, and it is believed that no one will be joining them until the tour is finished.
Look for some more Liverpool business to crack open in the next week.
