With Connor Wood committing to the Longhorns, 2010 recruiting class is loaded with QB’s:

First there was five-star recruit Garrett Gilbert of Lake Travis, who signed in this year’s recruiting class. He was soon followed by Colt McCoy’s younger brother, Case McCoy, a commitment for 2010.

Now, highly regarded Connor Wood of Houston Second Baptist has joined the Longhorns’ class of 2010 as well, according to Rivals.com and the Houston Chronicle, among others. Wood chose Texas over Oklahoma, according to reports.

What does Connor Wood mean for Texas? Most obviously, it means that the quarterback position, assuming that Wood redshirts and then stays four more years, is set until until the 2015 season. Think about that for a minute. It also means that Garrett Gilbert is unlikely to redshirt, as the coaching staff would want to separate Gilbert and Wood by the widest margin possible—two years.
