Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Brilliant to Rule out Andy Carroll Loan Move

Andy Carroll may not be justifying the money that his huge contract at Liverpool is paying him, but that doesn't mean the Reds should just give up on him this summer.

According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has no intention of loaning Carroll out at this point in time.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists there is no chance of Andy Carroll leaving the club on loan, but admits the Reds will consider any offers they receive for the striker.

The Anfield club are understood to have turned down a bid from the England international's former club Newcastle to re-sign him on a season-long loan earlier this month.

Even if the Reds are disappointed with the way that Carroll has performed in his 16 months with the team, giving up on a 23-year-old striker who is not that far removed from being a dominant force would be a fool's errand. 

Plus, when Carroll's value is about as low as it could possibly be, what benefit is there to loaning him out?

It's not like teams are going to be breaking down the door to give the Reds anything even close to the same value they payed to bring him on board in the first place.

It's possible that Liverpool could be trying to force other clubs to up their ante. It's unlikely that the Reds would be able to get the value they want for Carroll, after all. Therefore, why not start telling everyone that he is not going to be loaned out?

If there is a squad desperate enough to get a striker with tremendous potential, they could end up paying any price that Liverpool asks. These tactics have been used in all kinds of negotiations.

Liverpool is doing what it has to in order to protect itself and it's assets. Denying any Carroll loan is a brilliant strategy for the Reds to take, and one that will pay off for them down the road.
