WWE News: The Rock Returning to the Ring Before WrestleMania?

Sean O'NeilJul 19, 2012

The last time we saw the Rock was on Monday Night Raw the night after WrestleMania 28, when he defeated John Cena.

He will be appearing this Monday at the 1,000th episode of Raw, and he will be making an announcement. Many speculate that it will have to do with the WWE Championship and his promise to win it one more time.

Even WWE.com has released a main story about the WWE Title for this Monday and have included the Rock in it, which is the WWE's way of saying that Rocky will be involved in some way or another with the WWE Championship at the 1,000th episode of Raw.

The Rock announced at the WrestleMania 29 press conference this year that he would electrify at WrestleMania 29, saying that he would be there.

Other than that, we have been left without any idea of when the Rock will return to the ring for a match.

On Thursday, pwinsider.com released an article saying that Rocky is rumored to return to the ring one or possibly two times before he wrestles at WrestleMania 29.

We have been left without this kind of information before now, so this is pretty big news. If these rumors are true, when are we going to see the Rock wrestling next? SummerSlam? Survivor Series? The Royal Rumble?

I think it's pretty safe to say that the WWE will only have the Rock wrestle during pay-per-view events, so don't count on any surprise wrestling appearances from the Rock on Raw or Smackdown.

The good part of all this is that it looks like we will not have a year gap between the Rock's matches, and hopefully, the Great One sheds some light on when he might wrestle next this Monday.
