Breaking News: TNA Wrestling Signs Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Daniel PeragineJun 2, 2018

TNA Wrestling has a roster full of strong veteran presence, and it is about to add another.

According to TNA Wrestling's official website, Guerrero has signed a contract with the company and will make his official Impact! Wrestling live debut next week on Thursday, July 26. TNA President Dixie Carter first made the announcement on her Twitter page.

Guerrero, who wrestled for the WCW and WWE, is best remembered for teaming up with Eddie Guerrero years ago as the tag team "Los Guerreros." Chavo had a string of success in the WWE but quickly faltered towards the end of his run with the company.

Chavo, a third-generation star, will join his uncle, Hector Guerrero, who works as a TNA commentator.

My Quick Take

I think this is a nice signing by TNA.

Guerrero has been out of the wrestling scene as of late. He had some success in the WWE but never achieved what his potential was. It appears TNA will be giving him a big push, as he will make his live debut next Thursday night.

TNA has a pretty solid roster full of veterans and younger-generation stars.

I think the addition of Chavo brings more experience to the table and brings the Guerrero family closer with the company. I do not see this as a ratings boost for TNA by any stretch, but it could provide a nice signing by the company. Hopefully, Guerrero will add to TNA's solid product.
