WWE: 10 Potential Raw General Manager Candidates

Luis CamposJun 7, 2018

The past couple of weeks, the WWE's programming has been without a permanent general manager—a position left open after the former general manager John Laurinaitis was storyline "fired."

Though several guest general managers have served the position interim, it looks like the spot might finally be filled at the 1000th episode of Raw.

The has been much fan speculation on Twitter that the general manager announced next week will be the "WWE Universe," but while this unconfirmed rumor may turn out to be correct there is still a chance that the person who is appointed next week bears a familiar face.

Vickie Guerrero

1 of 10

Three weeks ago, Vickie Guerrero was allowed to act as general manager on both Raw and SmackDown given the fact that she had previously held the position in the past.

Having Vickie as general manager would be interesting on two accounts.

First, she is great at getting heat from the fans and would be perfect at tormenting the various babyfaces in the roster. But perhaps most importantly is the fact that if Vickie were to become general manager, she could finally leave Dolph Ziggler alone.

Now that Dolph Ziggler has the possession the World Heavyweight Money in the Bank briefcase, it is clear that he is on to bigger and brighter things. Having him separate from Vickie via her new role as general manager could be a good way for allowing both superstar to finally be independent from each other.

Mick Foley

2 of 10

Similar to Vickie, Mick Foley was also given the opportunity to be general manager a few weeks ago on Raw and SmackDown.

Having Foley act as general manager could result in some interesting television, while it is true that the "Hardcore Legend's" affiliations lean towards the babyfaces in the company there is no reason why Foley couldn't be a tweener GM.

Imagine a crazed Foley looking out not for heels or faces, but for whomever he feels like.

Jim Ross

3 of 10

It's about time Jim Ross makes his return to television. While it would be great to have him once again be back on the announcing team, Ross could also make an interesting general manager.

As general manager the Oklahoma-born Hall of Famer could finally enact his revenge on all the heels who have made his time in the WWE over the past couple of years a living hell.

Stone Cold Steve Austin

Speaking of raising hell. Who better to run Raw than Sheriff Austin himself?

Steve Austin has been gone from the WWE for a while now, and while he it is certain that he will appear at the 1,000th episode, why not have him stick around for a bit longer by making him the general manager of Raw?

Paul Heyman

5 of 10

Brock Lesnar is scheduled to appear next week at the 1,000th episode, and he will no doubt be bring alongside his legal adviser Paul Heyman.

Heyman's role as GM in the past has highly watchable. Perhaps it could be added in Brock's stipulations that he will wrestle Triple H at SummerSlam if Heyman is allowed to become general manager.

Stephanie McMahon

6 of 10

Not seen on WWE television since last year, Stephanie McMahon is royalty in the WWE kingdom.

The heir to the McMahon empire has a strong role behind the scenes, but for all those who remember her feud with Chris Jericho in the past, isn't time that the princess made her way back into WWE programming?

Shane McMahon

7 of 10

Like his sister, Shane McMahon is also "technically" an heir to the McMahon empire, and while it seems that Shane-O-Mac is more busy doing his own thing, imagine how great would it be to see the boss's son have one last run with the WWE.

Chris Jericho

8 of 10

Chris Jericho's latest run with the WWE has been bittersweet. On the one hand, he has put on some great matches against CM Punk, but on the other hand he hasn't really won anything,

We all know that Jericho is great on the mic, why not have him regain his edge by allowing him to use his awesome skills as GM?

Edge

9 of 10

Speaking of Edge.

The Canadian superstar is another one of this figures who would be perfect in the role of general manager. His tweener role could allow him to help or screw over whomever he wants, well, except for Christian.

The Miz

10 of 10

As I wrote in a previous article, the Miz has strongly hinted that he may be the next general manager.

His road to becoming GM may seem unlikely, but since it was the Miz that allowed John Laurinaitis to become GM of both Raw and SmackDown in the first place, maybe it is time for him to finally get the reward the deserves.
