Big deals cost big money, as the stories in today's B/R Transfer Tracker remind us.
Arsenal forward Robin van Persie is reportedly coveted by several clubs around Europe. Some, though, won't be able to buck up for him.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric is another big name in the transfer market, but to sign him, somebody will have to pay big money.
Along with RvP and Modric, we have updates on Leandro Damiao, Julio Cesar and Ibrahim Afellay. All the details are inside.
Robin van Persie Just a Dream for Juventus?
Signing Robin van Persie is just a dream for Juventus, according to the club's director general Beppe Marotta (via ESPNSoccernet).
Van Persie, 28, announced earlier this month that he would not sign a new deal with Arsenal. Since then, he has been linked heavily with a move away from North London, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Juventus and others thought to be interested.
But Marotta has played down Juventus' chances, saying: "It's necessary to always have dreams and ambitions, but at the same time you also have to contend with the reality of everyday facts."
Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly confident of signing RvP for about £20 million (via Daily Mirror).
Andre Villas-Boas: Luka Modric Will Cost You
Real Madrid must pay Tottenham Hotspur £35 million to sign Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, according to new Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas (via Daily Telegraph).
Modric, 26, joined Spurs in 2008 and is thought to be wanted by Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

The agent of Brazilian forward Leandro Damiao has met with AC Milan over a potential transfer (via ESPNSoccernet).
Damiao, 22, is currently with Brazil's Under-23 team for the Summer Olympics in London. He has scored 20 goals in 29 games this season with Internacional.

Roma After Julio Cesar?
AS Roma are considering a move for Brazilian keeper Julio Cesar as a replacement for Maarten Stekelenburg (via Goal.com).
Stekelenburg, 29, joined Roma in 2011 and experienced a mistake-prone first season. Cesar, 32, might be allowed to leave Inter Milan following the arrival of Samir Handanovic.
Ibrahim Afellay to Move?
Dutch midfielder Ibrahim Afellay is "considering his future" at Barcelona following the arrival of new manager Tito Vilanova (via talkSPORT).
According to Spanish reports, cited by talkSPORT, Afellay has been told he will not have a major role with Vilanova's team.
Inter Milan, Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly interested.
Afellay, 26, has earned 41 caps for the Netherlands.
