WWE Raw 1,000: WWE to Name New Raw General Manager
According to wrestlinginc.com, WWE has announced that on Monday night's 1,000th episode of Raw that they will name a new permanent general manager for the Raw brand.
Since John Laurinaitis was fired following No Way Out, Raw and Smackdown have been without a consistent manager. Guests like Vicki Guerro, Zack Ryder and The Anonymous General Manager have filled in, but only on a temporary basis.
While the guest general managers have done a fine job holding down the fort in the absence of a full-time leader, they are no match for a regular character filling the roll of WWE authority.

Throughout the weeks of authoritative absence and administration inconsistency, there has been one constant: WWE.com polls in which the WWE Universe calls the shots. Online polls have dictated AJ's roll in a championship match as well as a match between Jerry the King and Michael Cole, leading some to speculate that the next general manager of Monday Night Raw will be the viewers at home.
With the WWE's recent infatuation with Twitter, Tout and other social media, inviting the audience to interact directly with the show seems like a natural progression in the direction the company is taking.
However, if the WWE Universe does gain control of the red brand, our role will only be as strong as the polls the WWE allows us to vote in.
If speculation is correct and Raw does become controlled by the fans, it will indeed be a fresh take on a general manager position that has grown stale. But it is safe to assume the IWC will tire of the face-centric fanbase constantly casting their vote in favor of John Cena and other top stars.
