Officially unveiled alongside Marco Verratti as Paris Saint-Germain's newest signings Wednesday morning, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not travel with the French capital side to the United States, where PSG is set to play two friendlies in the next 10 days against Chelsea and DC United.

PSG will play Chelsea at Yankee Stadium in New York City on Sunday, July 22, and then travel to Washington to take on DC United at RFK Stadium on the 28th.

According to Robin Bairner, French Football editor for Goal International, Ibrahimovic had never been expected to participate in the US tour—even during his recruitment.
Just as Javier Pastore proved during last summer's frenzied recruitment, Ibrahimovic is the crown jewel of the current offseason transfer campaign, with French national sports daily L'Equipe hailing him as a "giant" and "the star that they have been waiting for," dedicating two-and-a-half pages in its Wednesday edition to him.
The tall Swede's arrival has taken on a rock-star aura, with thousands gathering throughout Paris to catch a glimpse of him. Ibrahimovic has moved from the Parc des Princes to the Eiffel Tower to the Champs Elysees during the day.
Signed on a three-year deal that will pay him a reported £10.9 million per annum, the 30-year-old striker, most recently employed by AC Milan, has been hailed as "the biggest deal in (PSG's) history" by sporting director Leonardo.
