Patrick ClarkeJun 2, 2018

The sparks are sure to fly when rookies Doron Lamb and Bradley Beal square off against each other in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon.

The Milwaukee Bucks' Lamb scored 20 points in his first Summer League outing. Meanwhile, his old SEC rival and the No. 3 overall pick in this year's draft, Beal, is averaging 17.5 points per game for the Washington Wizards through the event's first four games.

There will be plenty to watch for on Wednesday in Vegas, as some sizzling rookies look to continue their rise to stardom.

Doron Lamb vs. Bradley Beal

Both players went head-to-head on multiple occasions in college last season, with Lamb's Kentucky Wildcats winning all three matchups over Beal's Florida Gators. Beal is without question the one player best suited for NBA success, however, given his size and athleticism.

Beal and Lamb are both also tremendous outside shooters, who will add another dimension to their teams' offenses this coming season. Fans should watch for Beal and Lamb to use their deadly-accurate jump shots to create drive openings on Wednesday.

This will be a tremendous matchup to watch in a game that otherwise features little to get excited about for casual NBA fans. It will be interesting to see if Lamb can continue to score 20 points per game as Milwaukee's Summer League campaign carries on.

Houston Rockets' Young Guns

The Rockets are set to take on the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, and that matchup will give fans another solid look at their young weapons.

Jeremy Lamb and Terrence Jones are averaging 21 and 18.5 points per game respectively through four Summer League games, while Donatas Motiejunas, who is also a rookie but was drafted in 2011, is averaging 16.3 points and 7.8 rebounds.

Each rookie is battling the other for playing time in a rotation that will feature plenty of young talent. Jones is even averaging 8.5 rebounds in Vegas as well, demonstrating his versatility and putting pressure on his teammates to do the same. The Houston Rockets have plenty of competitive clashes to watch for internally.
