5 WWE Superstars That Need to Find New Feuds

Shane DarrowJun 4, 2018

Do you ever look back and miss the old days? The old days of constant feud changing, where one wasn't dragged out over the course of a calendar year and variety was the spice of life in the WWE.

Remember when there was a hardcore title, which just opened up the doors for exciting matchups and flooded the ring with new talent who were willing to do anything to see their names on a mid-card? I miss those days sometimes.

Here are five guys that the WWE creative team needs to find a way to implement into a new system.

The Miz

1 of 5

While I know he just returned to the WWE at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on Sunday, the WWE really needs to make a serious push with The Miz, and by the looks of things, they are going to. The former WWE Champion seemed to be jobbed out before going to shoot his new movie, The Marine 3, and he could become one of the best heels in the business.

There were moments when it looked like the creative team was going to pull a fast one on viewers and have The Miz win the Money in the Bank ladder match, but to everyone's surprise, it was John Cena that pulled it out. Please note my sarcasm.

The next day on Raw, Eve Torres announced that she would have a surprise partner for her mixed tag team match against A.J. and Daniel Bryan, and the man that is awesome was who she selected.

I think the time is right for The Miz to break up the wedding between Bryan and A.J. at the 1,000th episode of Raw and start a feud with Bryan. CM Punk is more than likely going to be going at it with John Cena again, so The Miz would be a good way for the fans to relive the life of Bryan as one of the biggest faces in the WWE.

Layla

Layla is the Diva's Champion in case no one was sure. So getting her into a feud would probably be a solid idea instead of letting A.J. and now Eve Torres be the face of the division.

The Diva's belt hasn't really meant anything for a long time. But how about Layla (instead of Eve) teams up with the Miz and attacks the wedding together! Layla can complain about how she is the champion, but A.J. has been stealing all of her thunder, because that is exactly what has happened over the course of the last month or so.

After Beth Phoenix took the pin fall at Money in the Bank (or maybe it was Raw? I don't pay attention to this division too closely), I don't see how she will be relevant anytime soon, and she is the only other diva I can think of who could step into the dim spotlight.

The Diva's title has all but lost its merit, and the champion should be able to grab some face time.

Santino Marella

3 of 5

If anyone can give me one reason in the comments section that would logically explain why Santino Marella still has the United States Championship belt around his waist, I will personally give you a shoutout via Twitter (@Pilsbury_BroBoy) and on my next WWE article because you will be the smartest man alive.

Alberto Del Rio is more than likely going to end up in the World Championship picture even though Dolph Ziggler is the one with the Money in the Bank briefcase, so count him and his over-the-top sidekick out of it.

Marella needs to feud with somebody that can strengthen the midcard and FINALLY take the title off of waist. Countless guys could be that guy. Anyone from Damien Sandow to Zack Ryder, but my vote would be for Ryber.. I mean Ryback.

The United States Championship is the first title that Bill Goldberg ever won... just saying.

Kane

4 of 5

The big red monster has sadly been posterized as a third wheel in the last two pay-per-view specials and really needs to grab some more leverage with a feud that focused more on him, instead of the other superstars surrounding his situation.

My vote is when The Big Show tries to interfere in the championship match between Cena and CM Punk at the 1,000th episode, that Kane comes to the defense of both men and finally shows everyone that is sick of the Big Show how a choke slam is supposed to look.

Kane has been in the WWE for 17 years and is still one of the most recognizable fans in the sport. He is not as agile or as talented in the ring as he used to be, but let him take the big man down once and for all.

Heath Slater

5 of 5

Now that all the past Raw legends are finally done defeating Heath Slater in a matter of moments in the Raw programs leading up to the 1,000th episode, the WWE needs to think of a different route for the one-man banddd, baby!

I honestly think that Heath Slater is exactly what comic relief should be in the WWE and not a tuxedo match that was put on the card between Santino Marella and Ricardo Rodriguez a month ago.

While he will more than likely never reach a dominant status on the card, Slater still can find his role in the company and could be a great stepping stone for younger talent as they enter the business for the first time.

Find a young, promising talent and have him go to war with Heath Slater, and hey, maybe we will be surprised and find out that Slater is more of a diamond in the rough than we thought.
