WWE Rumors: Creative Team Must Capitalize on the Miz's Popularity with Huge Push
After two months away from the WWE in order to film The Marine 3, The Miz returned to much fanfare at Money in the Bank on Sunday. Taking into consideration the favorable crowd reaction he received, the creative team must push Miz to top heel status moving forward.
According to SEScoops.com, the company is happy to have Miz back and is expected to use him in a very prominent role this fall. Miz was buried in every sense of the word leading up to his temporary departure as he lost to anyone and everyone, so it will be interesting to see if the WWE follows through with the rumored plans.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
When Miz won the Money in the Bank ladder match two years ago, it was the culmination of a lot of hard work, so his return on Sunday was timed quite well. Miz didn't win as John Cena took the briefcase, but when he cut a promo earlier in the night, the audience seemed legitimately excited and gave him a great welcome.
It looks like Miz is going to remain heel for the time being, though, based on the way he is developing into a pompous, Hollywood character. There is no question that Miz has a bright future as a possible top face down the line, but there is a severe lack of main-event heels on the roster currently, so the door is wide open for Miz to reclaim a top spot.
Say what you will about The Miz not having superior in-ring skills, but the fact of the matter is that there are a lot of other important factors to consider as well. Miz is fantastic when it comes to cutting promos and he is one of the few heels in the entire company right now that gets a reaction every time he steps through the curtains. That alone makes him worthy of a push.
Many revisionist historians consider The Miz's run with the WWE Championship to be a failure, but I don't believe that is accurate in the least. He won the strap in late 2010 when he cashed in on Randy Orton and lost it roughly five months later to Cena. Miz wasn't booked to look like a particularly strong champion, but he was involved in plenty of memorable segments and didn't seem out of place at all.
Things seem to be moving toward Daniel Bryan exiting the WWE Championship picture with Cena and CM Punk feuding over it through SummerSlam at the very least. Once that is over, though, somebody is going to have to step up and Miz is the ideal candidate. If Cena comes away with the title that may not happen since they feuded two WrestleManias ago, but Miz vs. Punk would certainly work.
In the meantime, I would love to see a rivalry between Miz and Orton with Miz going over. Orton is set to return from his wellness policy violation suspension in a couple weeks and going at it with Miz would be logical. Before Orton was suspended and Miz left for the movie, Orton RKO'ed Miz for no apparent reason.
There is also some possible built-in heat as Orton was originally supposed to play the lead role in The Marine 3, but it was given to Miz instead due to Orton's real-life dishonorable discharge from the Marines. Perhaps Miz can make note of how the WWE preferred him to Orton and that should really help him get some major heat from the crowd.
After suffering through such a long losing streak prior to his leave of absence, Miz needs some type of big win in order to reach that next level again. Orton would be the perfect launching pad since he is a main-event-level guy who is probably going to be forced into putting some guys over in the near future because of his poor decision making.
If that feud ultimately comes to fruition, then the door will be open for Miz to be in the WWE Championship picture once again and perhaps win it for a second time as well. It is clear that The Miz is at the height of his popularity right now, so it would be stupid for the WWE to let that go by the wayside.
