WWE News: WWE '13 Collector's Edition Gets a Stunning New Look

Gone Baby GoneJun 7, 2018

Here we stand, just a mere few months away from the WWE's latest video game. News is breaking that a special collector's edition will be released, featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin's skull logo gracing the cover.

As we all know by now, CM Punk landed the cover of this game. However, since the game includes an Attitude Era roster, I guess THQ and the WWE felt they needed to release an old-school cover as well.

The WWE.com article states:

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW
"Renowned for his unrelenting, antihero behavior, Austin is often celebrated for revolutionizing the WWE landscape during one of the company’s most prominent time periods, the Attitude Era. Available exclusively in North America for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system through the THQ Store, as well as through WWE’s official retail website (while supplies last), the "Austin 3:16" Collector’s Edition is currently scheduled to offer the following items:
  • Exclusive foil packaging featuring embossed "Stone Cold" Steve Austin skull
  • Exclusive collectible art card personally autographed by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin
  • Exclusive "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in-game attire: red skull t-shirt (circa 2001)
  • Exclusive "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in-game ATV ring entrance
  • "'Stone Cold' Steve Austin: The Bottom Line on the Most Popular Superstar of All Time" (DVD/Blu-Ray)
"

Overall, this was a smart move by the WWE as it allows Attitude Era fans to have an option and will bring back some nostalgia.

However, one has to wonder if this news is a bit disheartening to Punk. I am pretty sure this is the first cover to have an alternate version that doesn't involve the "star" of the game.

In the end, the WWE must have done some homework and realized its older audience might have some interest in a Stone Cold Collector's edition of the game.

One has to wonder if this means Austin will be tonight's GM or come back to take out Heath Slater, especially considering this announcement just dropped Monday afternoon.

I guess we will have to tune into Raw to find out how they will announce this on-air and who will be filling the role of GM.
