Norwich City: 5 Rumored Signings That Fans Would Love to See
It's the summer season and this is the worst time to be a football fan. Preseason training and friendlies don't generally hold much interest, so it is a matter of waiting for that first Premier League game to start.
But in the meantime there is, at least, some transfer speculation to keep us all amused. Premier League managers will look to have their squad complete before the first Premier League game. However they do, at least, have until the end of August to get their squad complete.
Now seems a good time to have a look at some players Norwich City fans would like to see running out at Carrow Road next season.
Robert Snodgrass (Leeds United)
1 of 5The news of Norwich City's interest in this player dates back quite a while now. Paul Lambert was said to have been a fan of the Leeds United player. It was unknown if Chris Hughton would be keen to follow up that interest.
However, Sky Sports suggests that he is and that Norwich has made fresh attempts to sign the 24-year-old. Some Norwich fans may feel he is a luxury that is not currently needed, but in the name of competition and completing a squad of ex-Leeds players he would be welcomed.
Snodgrass would quickly feel at home once he meets up with Bradley Johnson and Jonny Howson.
Vurnon Anita (Ajax)
2 of 5Reports suggest that the Ajax and Holland player is keen on a move to the Premier League.
At just 23, he sounds like an exciting player that can operate at left back or in a defensive midfield role. I'm sure Norwich City fans would love to see him at Carrow Road.
However, it appears that Newcastle United is leading the chase for this one and that Norwich are just monitoring the situation. A fee of £8 million has also been discussed, which would surely be beyond Norwich's reach.
Curtis Davies (Birmingham City)
3 of 5Norwich City fans will know that it is vital to have a solid defensive line to consolidate in the Premier League. Ryan Bennett and Daniel Ayala have the potential to form a very useful central defensive partnership.
But there are significant concerns about the quality of the back-up, especially following the surprise release of Zak Whitbread at the end of last season.
Therefore, the link to Curtis Davies is welcomed as a player that can bring both experience and quality to the Norwich defense. The speculation has intensified over the last few days and Chris Hughton has admitted his interest in the Birmingham defender.
Kyle Naughton (Spurs)
4 of 5The full back spent last season on loan at Norwich, and he proved during that time what a good player he was. However, it remains to be seen if Naughton will be a prime target for new manager Chris Hughton.
But the majority of fans would welcome the return of the player either in a permanent deal or part of a loan deal. There has been speculation that suggests Norwich remains interested in the player.
Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield Town)
5 of 5The Huddersfield Town striker hit an incredible 40 goals in all competitions last season and would be welcomed at Carrow Road.
He is young and appears to have the potential to make the step up. With Grant Holt now 31, he could be seen as the ideal long-term replacement.
