WWE: The Miz Returns and It's a Perfect Opportunity for a Face Turn

Sean O'NeilJun 1, 2018

At Money in the Bank this Sunday, the Miz made his return to the WWE after taking two months to film the newest installment of The Marine franchise.

As his music blared through the speakers in Phoenix, one thing in particular didn't happen that almost always happens when the Miz makes his entrance.

Nobody booed.

The Miz walked in with his suit and longer haircut, announcing himself as a part of the ladder match, and was generally cheered throughout the audience.

This is a great opportunity for the WWE to turn one of the biggest heels in the company the past two years into a formidable baby face.

It seems as if there is a significant lack of face characters in the main event picture at the moment, so much to the point that Kane and John Cena were on a tag team together just a week ago on Raw and somehow managed to showed no hatred towards each other at all.

Miz could become the face wrestler that the WWE needs right now. No more whining, no more jobbing to Brodus Clay and no more losing streaks.

The Miz is back and he has the potential to be great. His mic skills are good enough to get him over as a top face in the company and he could bring a whole new flavor to the main event picture.

In saying this, I hope guys like Cena don't forget their rough history just because of a face turn by the Miz, but the WWE has a habit of making that happen.

The Miz is a great heel character on Monday nights, but it isn't a secret that the WWE Universe was getting sick of his character well before WrestleMania.

The solution? Feed off the cheers the Miz got at Money in the Bank and turn him into a baby face and the payoff could be amazing.

Suppose this plan doesn't work and the fans don't buy into Miz as a face. He can very easily attack a guy like Kofi Kingston out of nowhere, say he was playing everybody and immediately be hated as a heel yet again.

There isn't a losing situation for the WWE if they try this, so why not go for it?

And man can that guy hit a great DDT.
