Liverpool Transfer Rumours: Liverpool Enter Transfer Race for Theo Walcott
With Theo Walcott currently embroiled in a reported contract dispute with Arsenal, the Daily Mail suggested on Monday that Brendan Rodgers may be about to enter the bidding for the English winger.
Fresh off an impressive showing at the European Championships, Walcott is a player who would be in high demand if Arsenal officials decided it was time for club and player to part ways.
Rivalling Chelsea for his signature, the report claims that Rodgers is considering making a bid of around £15 million for Walcott, believing that the acquisition would complement the style of football he wants the Reds to employ next season.

Walcott scored eight goals in the Premier League last season while racking up 11 assists to boot in a mixed campaign.
If the player were to turn down Arsenal's best contract offer, Liverpool would need to come close to matching Walcott's demand for close to £100,000 per week.
With Fabio Borini already signed, Rodgers will certainly be looking to add more players to his fledgling project, with rumours building over the potential sale of striker Andy Carroll—the club rejected a loan bid from Newcastle for the big man on Sunday (via The Telegraph).
The sale of Carroll would represent a significant loss for Liverpool, with any transfer likely to be far less than the £35 million fee the Reds payed only 18 months ago.
With the start of the season almost a month away, transfer rumours surrounding the club aren't likely to go away any time soon.
