Sssssssssssssssssssssssss Goldust.
Now, this embarrasses me a little to say, but I am a big Goldust fan.
I just want to clear up the direction they've tried with him, what they're currently doing with him, and what they should do with him in this quick article.
First, they tried a little program with Santino, but it seems as if they pulled the plug on that. Why, I'm not sure, as these two are hilarious on the mic, and Goldust is good with his in-ring work, which could help Santino's lack of talent. Other than his minor Santino feud, Goldust has just been used in backstage comedy segments.
Currently, it appears as if Raw creative has nothing for Goldust. It seemed for a couple of weeks that he might start a minor program with younger brother Cody, but it also appears that idea has been trashed. All Goldust fans should just stay patient, as I know that Brian Gerwitz (a fan of the character Goldust) will come up with something.
Finally, I feel the company should try a feud with Santino again. Like I mentioned, they're both good with promos, and Goldust can really help with Santino's in-ring work. Another direction they can go is a Jamie Noble feud.
As we all know, Noble is a glorified jobber who can't seem to take his career to the next level. Poor guy, remember, he was ROH Champ for a while. A feud with a guy like Goldust could push Noble into the mid card instead of being stuck in the under card.
One final possibility could be an anti-legacy type thing. This is very unlikely though, as they can't have 3-on-1, and there is no one for the company to bring in to help Goldust.
Unfortunately, Dustin Rhodes is stuck in the under card right now, even though he deserves better.
He has provided us with many great memories from his classic risque Goldust days, to his more comedic Goldust says from earlier in the decade. As for now though, us few Goldust fans can just hope that he doesn't get the D-Lo treatment, but I feel it might be a little too late for that.
