WWE Money in the Bank 2012 Predictions: Daniel Bryan Will Steal WWE Title

Adam WellsJul 14, 2012

In the annals of WWE history, a Daniel Bryan championship reign is not likely to be one of the best we have ever seen. Even so, at Money In the Bank, there is no reason not to put the title on the man who gave the world "YES!"

It almost seems too easy to predict Bryan to defeat CM Punk at the pay-per-view. After all, A.J. is going to be the special referee, we know she is going to play a role in the outcome of the match, and Bryan is someone she has had a relationship with on television.

However, looking at the options for WWE heading into SummerSlam, I am not convinced that Bryan isn't the best champion for the company right now.

I would testify to being a CM Punk fan, when he is actually given good things to do. This whole storyline with him being enticed by A.J. makes him look like a dork. He is supposed to be this smart, conniving face who can play anyone for a fool, yet he is charmed by a woman who really serves no purpose to his story.

The only reason Punk is acting interested in her is because the creative team is telling him to, which makes him look dumb. I could care less about a CM Punk who digs crazy chicks.

Bryan, on the other hand, has been dealing with A.J. for months. He was doing great work with her prior to WrestleMania, when they were a couple and he wanted her to stand by him, calling no attention to herself.

In a lot of ways, the reason A.J. is held in such high regard with the creative team right now is because of the work she did with Bryan. I think under the right circumstances they could make for a great WWE couple.

Bryan will not be a long-term champion—I think John Cena is going to win the belt from someone at SummerSlam—but as a one-month transitional guy, he would be outstanding. He is a great performer and will be able to get an outstanding match out of Cena.

I believe Bryan will walk out of Money In the Bank as champion, just because there are so many strong, positive directions to go in with him. Punk is completely played out in his current role.
