WWE: 7 Things That Could Make Summer Wrestling Even Hotter
While MITB is just a few days away, we can almost look past the PPV event and see SummerSlam on the horizon.
Wrestling never seems to sleep.
The summer is always the hottest time of the year for some of the greatest matches and pay previews we will ever see. Both Money in the Bank and SummerSlam last year left us wanting more with CM Punk’s emergence as a true superstar in the business and the slow fall off of John Cena.
Nothing could be better than seeing more superstars come to the front of the company and make their mark for the next generation of champions. Here are a few things that could really make the summer hotter than it already has been. It has been pretty steamy so far.
The Emergence of Damien Sandow
1 of 7Leaping Lanny Paffo meets Nick Bockwinkle.
Sandow has great technique and skill, and he can really talk. If he were a throwback wrestler, Verne Gagne would have scooped him up and placed him in a tag team with Bockwinkle for the way he talks and his charisma.
Sandow will be a force in the coming months in the company.
Ryback Finally Has a Challenger
2 of 7He has run over and through his competition.
Now, like other big men just starting out, it is time to find the big man some real opponents.
Could Wade Barrett, Randy Orton or even Tensai be on the horizon for the behemoth?
More Women Find out How to Wrestle
3 of 7A.J. Lee and Layla need to clash.
And somewhere along the way, the divas division must find an identity. Again!
This is the same old song and dance we have been hearing for many a moon. And when it comes right down to it, only a handful of divas can really perform in the ring.
It makes you wonder when we will see Kharma, Beth Phoenix and possibly someone like Lita or Michelle McCool make their return. But that does not seem likely.
More Brock Lesnar
4 of 7This is never a bad thing.
Lesnar could very well be the new face of this company, but, honestly, his existence out of the ring is hurting a potential return because we just don’t know when he'll return.
This is not a situation where we are expecting Sting to come from the rafters and save the WCW.
Lesnar, who should wrestle Triple H at SummerSlam, needs the WWE as much as the WWE needs him.
John Cena, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan
5 of 7Couldn’t we see a triangle like this all summer long for the WWE Title?
The idea of all three of them vying for the title does some great things for match angles and programs.
It also means we could see Punk turn heel and Bryan turn face which would be a great thing for the WWE Universe.
And, of course, Cena would still be as vanilla as ice cream.
Dolph Ziggler becomes a World Champion
6 of 7He had the title for a sip of coffee and now, with the help of Vickie Guerrero (or Ric Flair) Ziggler can leap to greater heights.
I personally do not think Ziggler will be the next Shawn Michaels, but I still like the comparison to “Stunning” Steve Austin.
A.W. Makes His Presence Known
7 of 7After a stint in CWF, Abraham Washington will finally show he is the best manager in the WWE.
We have been clamoring for managers and tag teams for such a long time, and while they are not the glamour kings and queens we used to love, there are still some great talents in the division.
Let the summer smooth things out, and see what Washington has in store for the these teams and how much of the pot he can stir.
