Oakland Raiders... Draft / Trade / Sign? How Do We Win In 2009?

Hello all and thanks for reading!

Like the rest of "die-hard" NFL fans, I am completely consumed by the pre-draft media frenzy filled with mock-drafts, circling rumors, and seemingly exciting re-writes of articles that were boring to begin with. What a waste of time and energy.  It's all nothing but prediction and fantasy meant to keep us waiting with anticipation until the next morsel falls from the table...

Who is controlling this never-ending void of NFL substance? Where is all of the actual information? What are all of you NFL junkies (if you will) doing with your curiosity and research? Is the NBA or Pre-Season MLB really that satisfying? 

I've been sending Raiders executives and coaches my evaluations of things (at no charge) for months now.  Those that are paying attention know that the personnel, plays and strategies that I recommend worked when finally implemented (and I have the email to prove I suggested things, first).

So I decided to dedicate my morning to evaluating the roster and making public suggestions here so that I not only have things documented in my email account, but so that you all could bear witness.

OK, OK, OK...  Let me take a moment to rebut some of the "hog-wash" responses I can hear already (although I encourage those as well, as thought out positions always could lead to progressive solutions).

A) Fargas needs to land in a place that he can excel as an off speed (2nd string) back.  We all love his attitude and overall aggressive running style.  The facts remain that he doesn't break the long play, he keeps our very talented runners off the field, and he makes our offense predictable.  Hopefully he has some trade value.  Sorry Huggy.

B) Our WR's are talented.  With a rookie to add youth we have a good corp.

C) Super Mario can do the job.  We need depth and another strong pillar for the other end (maybe LT & switch Henderson???).  This will help J Russ & the WR corp as well.

D) We really just need a run stopper at DT and we're good.  Sands and Green had there moments in '08 and are good at looming large on the field.  Depth to give breathers would be appreciated as well.

E) A decent OLB to help with the DT & DE situation (run stopping and pass rush) would be helpful but not entirely necessary if we get the DT we need.
