US Olympic Team Will Be Doused in Ralph Lauren for Opening Ceremony
The US Olympic Team will be dressed from head to toe in the most non-controversial outfits people will manage to have an issue with.

As you can see, they are pretty much as you would imagine if you closed your eyes and were forced to conjure the images of the most Ralph Lauren outfit in the world.
Sure, you might have images of sailing or the polo grounds, but this podium with the American flag will have to do.

I say hogwash, because the berets bring the whole ensemble together. That's right. I am taking a step further on that very easy-to-tread-upon limb and proclaiming the silly hats a success. They will make my viewing of the Opening Ceremonies all the more enjoyable.
Perhaps you just need to see them live, as they were presented on TODAY Tuesday morning with USA soccer player Heather Mitts and fencer Tim Morehouse.
You say the look is European, but I say the swag is pure American.
