Stringer Motorsports has announced that Gabi DiCarlo will make her debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Saturday at the Auto Club Speedway.
DiCarlo will have to qualify on speed for the San Bernardino County 200. She'll drive the No. 90 Great Clips Toyota Tundra.
The last two seasons, DiCarlo has competed in the Automobile Racing Club of America with Stringer Motorsports. In 2007, she finished 11th in driver points, and in 2008 she was 14th in driver points.
DiCarlo was approved to race at California, after competing in the Feb. 7 ARCA Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 race at Daytona.
"She's been progressing through the ARCA series for two years now," Stringer said. "California is a nice big race track. The biggest thing I've seen is her consistency and communication, and her ability to adjust to a pressure environment."
NASCAR's rule changes for the Truck series, perked Stringer's interest in the series and led to him purchasing trucks from Germain Racing.
Gabi's 2009 racing plan has her running 7 Truck races and 13 ARCA races.
