Ultimate Fighter: Why Brian Ebersole Would Be a Great Selection to Coach TUF
The next edition of The Ultimate Fighter will be Australia vs. the United Kingdom, and it will be called "The Smashes."
As usual, the coaches have not been announced yet, as it seems like Dana White likes to wait until as late as possible to announce who they'll be.
When he does make the choice, for Australia, he should choose Brian Ebersole.
Ebersole would be a great choice as a coach for several reasons. The first of which is that the UFC is seriously lacking in contenders from Australia.
For the record, Ebersole is not actually from Australia, but his gym is there, and that is where he fights out of.
So, other choices instead of Ebersole would consist of, George Sotiropoulos, Kyle Noke and Anthony Perosh.
Of those fighters, the only one in position to make a title run is Ebersole. Ebersole is on an 11-fight winning streak, with four of those coming in the UFC.
Second, Ebersole is a personable fighter. He's funny, and would have more charisma than some other fighters out there.
But the third reason is easily the best. Ebersole is a veteran of 66 fights. His record is 50-14-1 (1 NC). His level of experience is unbelievable.
He has fought such guys as Hector Lombard, Carlos Newton, Chris Lytle, Dennis Hallman, Stephan Bonnar and more. He would certainly have a lot to offer a group of young fighters.
In addition, he went through 62 fights before getting the call to the UFC. He could bring a message of perseverance to the fighters in the house, that they should never give up.
Plus, who doesn't want to see him teaching a bunch of prospects how do to the cartwheel kick?
