WWE Money in the Bank: Full Card Simulation

Bill PivetzMay 31, 2018

It's another month and another WWE pay-per-view. Money in the Bank takes place in a couple of days and the advertised card only lists four matches plus a preshow match.

As I did with No Way Out, I will simulate all the matches on WWE '12 and give a recap of what the results of each match was and how I feel it compares to what really will happen on Sunday

The card, according to Wikipedia is as follows:

  • Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. Hunico and Camacho (preshow)
  • Big Show vs. John Cena vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kane in a MITB ladder match
  • CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship with AJ as the referee.
  • Damien Sandow vs.Tyson Kidd vs. Christian vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Tensai vs. Santino Marella vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Sin Cara in a MITB ladder match
  • Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship

We may get one more match announced on Smackdown. There may also be a Ryback squash match seen on this show.

With that being said, let's get the simulation started.

Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. Hunico and Camacho

1 of 6

This match will take place before the actual event. It hasn't been announced that the tag titles will be on the line here, but it may be announced last minute.

Truth and Hunico kicked things off. Camacho got involved early, which gave Hunico the early upper hand. Hunico and Camacho were dominating the tag champs. After a double team move, Camacho punched Kofi off of the apron. Kofi has yet to see any action. Kofi was finally tagged in, but he was met with a shoulder tackle from Camacho. Kofi landed a couple off DDTs on Camacho.

Hunico and Kofi fought on the outside, but made it back in the ring at the five count. Kofi received more double team moves. Hunico then hit a springboard splash from the second rope. R-Truth was tagged back in after receiving a lot of rest. He drove Hunico's head into the mat and he began bleeding. Camacho landed a suplex and hit Kofi with a sit-out face buster, busting Kofi open in the process. Camacho then rolled him over for the three count.

Winners: Hunico and Camacho

Since this match will not be for the tag titles, this one is a little hard to pick. I will go out on a limb and pick Hunico and Camacho to steal this one in what could be a pretty good preshow match.

Smackdown MITB Ladder Match

2 of 6

There are eight participants, but the game will only allow six superstars. So, I will choose the six that I think have the best chance of winning.

The six are Christian, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Damien Sandow, Tyson Kidd, Tensai. I don't see Santino or Sin Cara making much of an impact during this match, so they won't be participating.

Sandow and Tensai left the ring right away and brought in two ladders. Tyson Kidd made the first attempt at the briefcase. Rhodes found a sledgehammer under the ring and brought it in. Tensai was pulling on the briefcase, but he was stopped by Sandow.

Sandow took out Kidd and began climbing the ladder. Christian climbed also and flipped Sandow over his back down to the mat. Trying to take out the big man, Christian landed the Killswitch on Tensai. Kidd was pulling on the briefcase, but Christian ran up the ladder like Shelton Benjamin and took him out.

Ziggler landed the ZigZag on Rhodes. A faint "Ziggler sucks!" chant broke out. Funny stuff. Everyone was fighting in and out of the ring. Tensai climbed the ladder and was able to pull down the briefcase to win.

Winner: Tensai

I don't agree with this result, but if Tensai should win on Sunday, maybe it'll give the fans a reason to care about him.

Sandow, Christian, Rhodes and Ziggler are the four logical winners of this match. My personal pick is going to be Ziggler, but I wouldn't be surprised if the any of the other three won.

Raw MITB Ladder Match

3 of 6

With only four superstars, this could possibly be a boring ladder match. However, this match is still up in the air. With it being Cena's first Money in the Bank match, he could win. Also, Jericho, as the inventor, could win the match as well.

This match was a lot easier to follow. Plus, with only four superstars, it was very quick too. Show and Cena left the ring and brought in two ladders right away. Show was on the ladder. Cena followed, but Show hit a couple of right hands and Cena crashed down on the mat. Show was then pulled down by Jericho.

Kane had Cena trapped in the corner as he choked him with his boot. Cena left the ring and found a chair under the ring. Kane and Show were at the top. Show tossed Kane down, but Cena powerbombed Show from the ladder to the mat. Cena hit Kane with the Attitude Adjustment. Kane returned the favor with a chokeslam.

Cena tried to keep Show down with an Attitude Adjustment, but he got right back up. Jericho landed the Codebreaker on Kane and Show hit Cena with the WMD. The match ended with Kane pulling down the briefcase after he tossed Show off the ladder.

Winner: Kane

As much as I don't want to say this, I see John Cena winning the ladder match, especially if WWE wants to book CM Punk-John Cena II. It's been about 10 months since Cena held the title. I am shocked it's been that long. However, Cena will be champ going into SummerSlam.

Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship

4 of 6

Since returning, Del Rio has lost a lot of heat. His gimmick needs a change. I feel that Ziggler should be in the match and Del Rio should be in the ladder match. Sheamus as champ seems like an afterthought.

Sheamus isn't doing too well as World Champ either. There have been times that I forgot he was the champ. I really don't care for either man as champion right now.

Both men were going back and forth with their offensive moves. Sheamus landed a front slam, but Del Rio answered with a jaw breaker. Sheamus continued to go for his power moves, but Del Rio kept reversing them. Sheamus connected with a couple of short-arm clotheslines. He then hit a huge fall away slam. He picked Del Rio up and hit the Irish Curse back breaker.

After reversing Sheamus' finisher, Del Rio locked in the armbar, but Sheamus was able to get out of it. After a snap suplex and a heel kick, Del Rio locked in a second armbar, but Sheamus was able to break out of it again. Del Rio left the ring and brought in a chair. He DDT'd Sheamus onto the chair. Sheamus got up and was finally able to land the High Cross to retain his belt.

Winner: Sheamus

This was a very entertaining match to watch. I see Sheamus defeating Del Rio on Sunday, but losing it to whoever wins the MITB ladder match. Hopefully Ziggler will be one who cashes in the briefcase.

CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title

5 of 6

I'm ready for this feud to end. AJ has been intriguing, but it seems that she is more important than the WWE Title and that should never happen.

WWE '12 does not allow special referee matches, so this will be a standard singles match.

Punk was dominating Bryan in the early minutes. He landed a couple of neckbreakers and a huge German suplex. Bryan attempted a comeback, but he was halted by a hurricanrana. Punk threw Bryan to the outside and he shortly followed.

Bryan fought back and landed multiple kicks to the chest and head of Punk. He then locked Punk in the Yes Lock, but Punk reached the ropes. Punk got up and put Bryan in the Anaconda Vice. Bryan had no choice but to tap.

Winner: CM Punk

This match only lasted five minutes. I hope WWE gives it more time than that. I predict that Punk will retain the title here and will end up facing Cena at SummerSlam.

Conclusion

6 of 6

My WWE '12 simulations predicted that Hunico/Camacho, Kane, Tensai, Punk and Sheamus will win.

I don't agree 100 percent. My predictions are Cena, Ziggler, Punk, Sheamus and Hunico/Camacho.

The hype for this event isn't even close to what last year's event had. The card isn't too spectacular either.

I don't have high expectations for this event at all. WWE has focused more on the 1000 Raw than this pay-per-view. I'm ready for that and this PPV to be over so WWE can start their build for SummerSlam.

Leave your predictions and thoughts on the card in the comments below.
