The Broncos are loving their iPad playbooks. It's a surprise more teams haven't implemented iPads for their playbooks, but that could be coming. The playbook reportedly offers links to video of each play. Learning can be accelerated by using the appropriate tools and the Broncos are hoping by being early adopters they will realize the rewards before the competition.
Kansas City Chiefs
According to Priest Holmes NFL hits can change the color of the sky. I'm not sure if Holmes is totally serious or if he's embellishing, but he's highlighting the seriousness of the collisions in the NFL and the concussive harm they can cause on any football play.
Matt Cassel was booed at a celebrity softball event. How much longer can the Chiefs get away with starting Cassel? They need to find a franchise quarterback soon and the 2013 draft class could be loaded.
San Diego Chargers
The Chargers are marketing tickets to Chiefs fans in hopes of avoiding blackouts in 2012. The story is overblown, but it does highlight the fact that the Chargers have been mostly successful for the past eight years and have still had trouble getting people to attend games.
It's hard to compete in California, particularly in San Diego where you are trying to get people to leave the beach or a dozen other activities they could be doing on a Sunday afternoon.
Oakland Raiders
Ken Stabler is in hot water with the IRS. After selling his house he still owes over $265,000. It's a shame to see former greats struggling, but this mess was largely of Stabler's own making.
Former front office executive Bruce Allen wrote today's Monday Morning Quarterback over at Sports Illustrated, filling in for Peter King. Allen has kind words for his ex-employer Al Davis:
