Now, let's give a quick recap of Stage 6 so you know what to look for in Stage 7 on Saturday.
Stage 6
Like I mentioned before, Sagan won the sixth stage on Friday. He narrowly defeated Andre Greipel down the backstretch with an admirable effort on the race's final sprint.
This was Sagan's third stage victory thus far.
A leading pack emerged at the beginning of the stage, and their leading margin was increased with a 20-ride pileup very early in the race. This allowed them to open up a six-plus minute lead.
The peloton was split with just over 25 kilometers remaining in the race. Ryder Hesjedal, Frank Schleck and Mark Cavendish all fell victim to a multi-rider crash, while other contenders emerged untouched.
Overall, the stage was exciting but scary. Cancellara retained the yellow jersey, but crashes put a damper on Friday's competition.
The stage is set for an unbelievable remainder of the race. Right now, it's anyone's contest to win.
